Patina Patina PatinaMiller starred as the Leading Player Miller was the lead actor in The Broadway version of Stephen Schwartz's iconic musical of 1972 "Pippin". It was directed by Tony Award winning director Diane Paulus, and also featuring Matthew James Thomas, Andrea Martin and Terrence Mann, "Pippin" received the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical at the 67th annual Tony Awards. Patina was able to put a modern version of a role that was created by the award-winning actor Ben Vereen. She mastered the Fosse motions that the show relies so heavily on. The performance of Patina earned her an Tony Award in the category of Best Actress, Lead Role Musical. The Outer Critics Circle Award was as well to her for Outstanding Actress. The role she played before was Lead actor on stage at American Repertory Theater in "Pippin" which ran from December 2012 until January 2013. Miller made her Broadway debut in the 2011 Broadway season as the gutsy nightclub-singer-turned-nun "Deloris Van Cartier" in the stage adaptation of "Sister Act", which earned her first Tony nomination, as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for her performance.
